Theology, Justice, and Peace, B.A.
The degree offers students the opportunity to explore, in an interdisciplinary manner, the integral relationship between Christian theological study and the work of peace and justice in the world. Concepts include empathy, reconciliation, and sustainability will be marshaled to address issues of inequity, both global and domestic. Combining social scientific analysis, community-oriented strategies, and the ethical reasoning arising from studies in biblical, theological, and ministry topics will enrich students' contribution in pursuit of more just, peaceful, and Christlike communities.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students who complete the program in Theology, Justice, and Peace will be able to:
- Students will develop a biblically-informed and theologically informed vision of Christian justice and peace-making.
- Students will evaluate and apply social scientific research to issues of justice and peace.
- Students will identify and reflect upon current issues of conflict, poverty, racism, and inequity.
- Students will develop multidisciplinary, community-oriented strategies that promote peace and justice.
