PHP - Preparation for Health Professions

PHP 1001  Introduction to Health Professions I  (1 Unit)  

Course for students interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. This course will introduce students to the various health professions and inform them of the required preparations for these careers. This course will provide time for reflection to determine if the health professions are the right career or vocational path and which career path(s) they may want to pursue.

Credit/No Credit.  
PHP 2001  Preparation for Health Professions Schools I  (1 Unit)  

Course for students planning to pursue a career in the health professions. This course will introduce students to the application and interview process to health professions schools. This course will include an overview of the application process, draft of the personal statement, compilation of lists of work and activities, practice interview, and recommendations to strengthen future application.

Credit/No Credit.  
Prerequisite(s): Consent of instructor and planned submission of application to health professions school during spring/summer of the following academic year.  
PHP 2002  Preparation for Health Professions Schools II  (1 Unit)  

Course for students planning to pursue a career in the health professions. This course will introduce students to the application and interview process to health professions schools. This course will include a timeline of the application process, revision of the personal statement and list of work and activities, practice interview, recommendations to strengthen application, recommendation letters, and preliminary school selection.

Credit/No Credit.  
Prerequisite(s): Consent of instructor and planned submission of application to health professions school during spring/summer of the current academic year.
